Fort Flagler Race Previews

This weekend is the two-day Fort Flagler cross fest, featuring races #7 and #8 in the Seattle Cyclocross Series. Unlike last year, this year will feature two totally unique courses in different parts of the park. Race director and course creator Andy Dahlstrom:

"Flagler courses: Saturday will be similar to years past: down along the water, roller-coaster trails, in and out of the woods and campsites. One natural run-up, and some open field barriers. One big climb, and the sand pit, next to the bonfire. Sunday is all new. The course runs in and around the military bunkers and berms of the Fort's old gun emplacements. Instead of barriers, we have several short 'n' steep hills--one rideable, two are run-ups. Otherwise, it's pretty flat and fast. With sandy soils and hard-packed service roads, the courses shouldn't be too muddy, except by design."

Hop on a ferry and make your way over to Fort Flager for two days of great racing. Lodging is available for those who want to make a weekend out of it.
