Tonkin/Mazza head to the Rockies

Passing up another Cross Crusade weekend, Portland hard-man and all-around good guy Erik Tonkin (KONA) and the Queen of Portland Cyclocross Rhonda Mazza (TEAM S&M/VANILLA) headed to Boulder for the Boulder UCI Cross Race presented by Boulder Racing. Next week is the USGP stop in Colorado for the 3rd and 4th races in the 6 race series. Erik finished 4th as the reigning National Cyclocross Champion Todd Wells (GT) easily took the victory over a very competitive field. Rhonda ended up taking 5th on the day as National Champion Katie Compton (SPIKE) easily took the victory (after nearly winning the Men’s Cat 3 race immediately prior to the womens race!), Ketchum, Idaho’s Georgia Gould (LUNA CHIX) finished 2nd on the day.
