Lap times

In studying the Seattle Cyclocross Series results, the lap times are a great bonus to the results. The average lap times allow one to compare people of both genders in various categories against each other. Yesterday’s results tell the story of a course that got significantly more difficult as the day went on due to the transformation of smooth grass to thick lumpy mud. The first race of the day, Master Men Cat 4 35+ was won by Jason Dudek (WINES OF WASHINGTON) with an average lap time of 7:58 for 4 laps. Fast forward 5 hours and roughly a dozen races later and the winner of the Men 1/2 race was Ryan Iddings (REDLINE) with an average lap time of 7:51 for 8 laps. At Mr. Dudek’s pace during the 9:30am race, he would have taken 3rd overall in the Men 1/2 race at 2:45pm. An interesting scenario would be to see how fast Mr. Iddings would have gone at the 9:30am race. Any guesses on what his average lap time would have been?
